Nueva York.-<\/strong> El Servicio Nacional de Meteorolog\u00eda (NWS, en ingl\u00e9s)<\/strong> advirti\u00f3 este lunes de posibles inundaciones en el centro y el este de Estados Unidos a causa de fuertes precipitaciones<\/strong>, lo que podr\u00eda afectar al partido del Mundial FIFA 2026<\/strong> que se disputar\u00e1 hoy en Nueva Jersey entre Noruega y Senegal.<\/p>\n

La agencia alert\u00f3 -en su perfil de X- que en esta primera semana de verano \u00abse mantendr\u00e1 un patr\u00f3n activo de lluvias intensas y condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas adversas\u00bb, a medida que dos sistemas frontales se desplazar\u00e1n por el centro y el este del pa\u00eds en las pr\u00f3ximas 48 horas.<\/p>\n

\u00abDurante una inundaci\u00f3n, los niveles de agua y la velocidad a la que fluyen pueden cambiar r\u00e1pidamente. Lo m\u00e1s seguro es permanecer en el interior o buscar un terreno m\u00e1s elevado si no hay ning\u00fan refugio disponible\u00bb, recomend\u00f3 el NWS.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

El alcalde de Nueva York, Zohran Mamdani<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n advirti\u00f3 que a las 14:00 (18:00 GMT) entrar\u00e1 en vigor una alerta por inundaciones en la ciudad.<\/p>\n

La alerta coincide con el partido entre la selecci\u00f3n de Noruega y la de Senegal en el Mundial de f\u00fatbol que comienza a las 20:00 hora local (00:00 GMT del martes) en Nueva Jersey, en desarrollo de la segunda jornada del grupo I.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Igualmente, se disputar\u00e1 hoy en Filadelfia el encuentro entre Francia e Irak, tambi\u00e9n del grupo I, aunque con menores probabilidades de que las condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas previstas tengan impacto en ese partido.<\/p>\n

En unas declaraciones recogidas por el medio local Gothamist, James Tomasini, meteor\u00f3logo del NWS, subray\u00f3 la posibilidad de que se produzcan \u00abinundaciones repentinas debido a las fuertes lluvias que acompa\u00f1an a las precipitaciones y tormentas\u00bb y destac\u00f3 que tambi\u00e9n podr\u00edan producirse \u00abr\u00e1fagas de viento da\u00f1inas\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Tomasini indic\u00f3, adem\u00e1s, que las lluvias m\u00e1s intensas se producir\u00e1n alrededor de las 14:00 hora local (18:00 GMT) y que podr\u00edan prolongarse hasta la medianoche.<\/p>\n
