Dixon aprovecha el error de Palou para ganar en Mid Ohio

<p>Con su familia presente, <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/scott-dixon/21774/">Scott Dixon</a> volvió subir a lo más alto del podio el domingo en el <strong>Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course</strong>, esta vez con una pizca de suerte.</p>
<p>En un día en el que parecía que <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/alex-palou-2/42275/">Alex Palou</a> iba a conseguir una nueva victoria, Dixon estiró el combustible con una estrategia de dos paradas para colocarse segundo. Fue una carrera inteligente del veterano, pero que estaba a punto de ser eclipsada por su dominante compañero de equipo.</p>
<p>Entonces <strong>Palou cometió un raro error</strong>.</p>
<p>Una pequeña salida de pista del español abrió la puerta a Dixon para ponerse en cabeza a falta de seis vueltas para el final. El neozelandés no perdió el tiempo. Dixon adelantó a Palou y se pudo colocar en cabeza de carrera en las últimas vueltas.</p>
<p>&#8220;He perdido un poco el ritmo en la entrada y luego no he podido dar potencia&#8221;, dijo Palou. &#8220;La culpa es mía. Me he abierto un poco en la entrada y lo he perdido todo&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>La victoria del domingo fue la número 59 de Dixon en la IndyCar</strong>, lo que coloca al veterano con 21 temporadas consecutivas consiguiendo en una victoria en la <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/indycar/news/resumen-resultados-carrera-mid-ohio-palou/10740082/es.motorsport.com/indycar/" target="_self" rel="noopener">IndyCar</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;Está claro que fue una carrera difícil&#8221;, dijo Dixon. &#8220;Todo el mérito es de <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/team/chip-ganassi-racing/208/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chip Ganassi Racing</a>. Teníamos coches fantásticos. Fue culpa mía en la clasificación. Pero fue muy divertido. Intentar hacer lo que hicimos y hacerlo con lo que teníamos fue fantástico&#8221;.</p>

<p>Palou se había posicionado para conseguir su séptima victoria en las 10 primeras carreras de 2025, lo que habría aumentado una racha de dominio que le ha visto crear una ventaja casi irrecuperable en la clasificación del campeonato.</p>
<p>Con Dixon todavía ahorrando combustible en las últimas vueltas, <strong>Palou fue capaz de acercarse a su alerón trasero y retarle a través de la sección de la cerradura de Mid-Ohio. Pero no pudo pasarle antes de que ondeara la bandera a cuadros</strong>.</p>

<p><a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/christian-lundgaard/449797/">Christian Lundgaard</a> subió al podio en la tercera posición, con <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/colton-herta-2/41525/">Colton Herta</a> y <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/pato-o-ward/109473/">Pato O&#8217;Ward</a> completando los cinco primeros puestos. <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/felix-rosenqvist-2/37139/">Felix Rosenqvist</a>, <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/marcus-armstrong/445582/">Marcus Armstrong</a>, <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/kyle-kirkwood/290721/">Kyle Kirkwood</a>, <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/rinus-veekay/833591/">Rinus VeeKay</a> y <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/kyffin-simpson/879349/">Kyffin Simpson</a> completaron el top 10.</p>
<p>La carrera del domingo comenzó con emoción. <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/josef-newgarden/36117/">Josef Newgarden</a>, en apuros, bloqueó sus neumáticos traseros e hizo un trompo al entrar en la primera curva a buen ritmo y golpeó a <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/graham-rahal/21869/">Graham Rahal</a>. Entonces Newgarden abandonó, junto con su compañero de equipo <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/will-power/25961/">Will Power</a> poco después, después de que un toque le dejara fuera de carrera.</p>
<p>Esa bandera amarilla, junto con otra por un accidente de <a href="https://es.motorsport.com/driver/christian-rasmussen/947633/">Christian Rasmussen</a> en la vuelta 31, resultó ser clave para Dixon. Permitieron al seis veces campeón conservar combustible y le ayudaron a estirar su depósito para la estrategia de dos paradas.</p>
<p>Dixon tomó el mando a partir de ahí, poniéndose en posición de atacar si Palou cometía un error.</p>
<p>Y por suerte para él, Palou finalmente se equivocó cuando más importaba.</p>
